Damery is a small hamlet near Tortworth, once a busy cloth manufacturing area on the Little Avon. Now tranquil and picturesque, it also had an iron forge close by, and earlier, an Iron age hill fort on the wooded ridge. The rocky river empties into the Severn estuary lower down towards Berkeley.
