April 2 2020. Corona virus still rampant across the world. I am isolating myself here for the duration. and one of my daughters is courageously bringing me comestibles. We are disinfecting them before storage and use. I've been carving spoons nearly every day, some domestic ones with long handles, some twisted and decorative with pyrography and spirals.
Mid-September. Looks like the second wave of Corona virus is upon us. Getting my shopping delivered to my door now, and passing my days still carving, making chutney, designing logos for a wine-bar and occasionally recording songs on Garageband. I've been training Virginia creeper over a self-made arch at the back gate, to eventually colonise the tin roof of the workshop. It appears to be doing the trick, spreading rapidly. I've pickled a jar of cucamelons and one of nasturtium seeds. Also made apple champagne with some decorative little fruit I picked in the town Chipping. The bottles are about to burst now!
There is a cold front moving westward over Britain today, bringing sporadic rain and lower temperatures with it.14C forecast for the next few days. Autumn is upon us. The creeper is turning red and the leaves are falling. Mist on the ridges in the early mornings as the back-end closes in on a very strange year.
