If you want to know more about anything, look no further than Tom Scott on youtube. He's put up an incredible amount of informative and well-made pieces, from linguistic knowledge to Old Sarum and much more. He's a polymath from Nottinghamshire ( I would like him) with an enquiring mind on almost any subject. My son Jack introduced me to his videos, and I've spent a good few hours watching his reviews with admiration. I don't understand why he's not better known. Television should have snapped him up years ago. Look on Tom Scott videos on youtube. If only there were more young people like him about.
I've spent most of the day working on an otter drawing in coloured pencil for one of my daughters. A long way to go yet. Also I've been completing the signage and letterheads for a new wine bar in my local town, done in pyrography and ink on card for the graphics. Should work out fine.
A sad day for me - I heard that the Irish poet Derek Mahon died a few days ago. A fine poet, a modern -day Yeats in many ways, his vibrant verse ranges across many subjects and appeals to my way of thinking. His often blunt and raw dynamic passages remind me of Ted Hughes' best work.RIP.
